The City of Marietta released what follows on their website, announcing that Marietta Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for a basketball skills clinic for residents ages 6-13:
Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities is proud to announce that registration is open for the Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center Basketball Skills Clinic. The Basketball Skills Clinic aims to teach children between the ages of 6 and 13 the basics of basketball through various training. The overall goals of The Basketball Skills Clinic are to improve the quality of their game through skill development, teach the basics of basketball, and further prepare them to play in official basketball games.
The clinic, at Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center, 545 Kenneth E Marcus Way, will run from March 10 through April 16 with workouts Thursdays and Saturdays. Children ages 6 to 9 will attend the clinic on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. While young people aged 10 to 13 will be present on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. $80 per child for City of Marietta residents and $100 per non-city resident child.
**Please note this is a skills clinic and not a basketball league. There will be no official matches played during the session**
