Here’s what Shaq thinks of Adam Sandler’s basketball skills

As we all know, Adam Sandler doesn’t wear basketball shorts all the time for no reason. The actor’s hoop skills are legendary and he is regularly spotted at pick-up matches. But how does he measure up to the pros?

Thanks to a recent video, we have a better idea. Sandler was recently filmed in an open run that included NBA players like Trae Young, Boban Marjanovic, Tobias Harris and Jordan Clarkson. Catch him sinking a jump shot at the 17-second mark below.

Turns out some old pros caught wind of the video as well. Shaquille O’Neal weighed in on this during a recent appearance on the “Green light with Chris Longpodcast, giving Sandler’s skills on the court its stamp of approval.

“He’s legit,” O’Neal said. “Not a legit pro, but he’s definitely LA Fitness, 24-Hour Fitness legit.”

Of course, Shaq can be slightly biased. He and the Sandman have a history. The former NBA star has appeared in four Adam Sandler films so far, playing himself in 2011 Jack and Jill, intervening as a Fluzoo officer in adults 2, playing a sporting goods store employee in 2014 Mixture, and most recently as DJ Aurora in the last year hubie halloween.

But even though O’Neal is just gassing his friend, the video doesn’t lie, and Sandler actually appears to be defending himself — or at least putting on a respectable performance — against the pros.
