The winning streak continues.

Lake Washington High School’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams both won the KingCo Conference Championship on Feb. 9.

Next week, the Lady Kangs and Kangs basketball teams are scheduled to play their first matches in the SeaKing Tournament on February 15.

The Lady Kangs defeated second-seeded Hazen 71-48, leading the Lady Kangs to their third consecutive KingCo Conference Championship victory.

By winning the 3A KingCo Season Regular Tournament and the 3A KingCo Conference Championship Tournament, the Lady Kangs won the second seed of the 3A District 2 Women’s Basketball Tournament, also known as the “SeaKing”.

The Lady Kangs’ next game is Tuesday, February 15 at 6:30 p.m. at LWHS Gymnasium.

On the boys side, the Kangs defeated Liberty 58-47 at the KingCo Conference Championship. The Kangs compete in the SeaKing Men’s Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 8:15 p.m. at LWHS Gymnasium.

“I’m so proud of this group of guys not just for what they’ve accomplished, but for how they’ve done it,” Kangs head coach Ryan Staudacher said. “They work hard, they’re great teammates for each other and they approach the game the right way. It’s fun to see a band that grew up playing together have this kind of success, I couldn’t be happier for them.

The top winning teams from the SeaKing tournament, which runs Feb. 12-19, qualify for the Washington State Regionals.
