The Summit High School boys and girls basketball teams are hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Saturday, November 12 at Summit High School’s gymnasium to raise funds for the upcoming season.

The tournament will consist of a maximum of 16 teams divided into three tournament divisions: middle school, high school and adult. Each half-court match will consist of a two-minute warm-up, eight-minute halves with a clock, a two-minute half-time and 30-second timeouts at the end of the four-minute each half .

All baskets are worth 2 points and a player will foul after three fouls. After five fouls in a given game, teams will shoot a free throw worth 1 point. The middle and high school divisions will be refereed by high school players. Coaches, parents and the adult division will be self-evaluated.

At least one male and one female are required for the middle school and high school divisions, while co-ed teams are optional for the adult division, which is for people 18 and older. Each team is guaranteed two games and will be eliminated after two defeats.

Matching t-shirts or a team theme are encouraged but not required. Spectators are encouraged.

The registration cost is $50 per team. All proceeds will be used to fund Summit High School’s basketball programs.

Those interested in registering for the tournament can register via a Google docs link for the event. Payments can be made to Kayle Walker Burns (@Kaylewburns) on Venmo with the subject line detailing team name and age group.
