‘My Heart Was Beating’ – KKR Captain Shreyas Iyer at IPL 2022 Mega Auction
The swordsman was one of the most wanted cricketers ahead of the auction. Franchises sued their favorite star before Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) acquired his services for a huge INR 12.5 crores.
Speaking from the experience, Shreyas Iyer revealed he was nervous as he went under the hammer. Speaking on KKR’s website, he said:
“Yes, I was watching the auction and KKR went for me from the start. There were also other big franchises and I remember the battle was going on. We, all of our team members (India) , were sitting together and watching the auction on TV. My heart was racing, and I wasn’t able to control my emotions. I was trying to be relaxed, but you know, and of course, I felt a little nervous.
“Finally KKR got me, that feeling was amazing. I’m really proud, considering the rich history and getting into KKR’s setup.
